FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know

Open a question below for instructions about purchasing, sending, redeeming and using a Herb Research gift certificate.

How do I purchase a gift certificate?

Gift certificates are purchased through the Herb Research store in much the same way as other products.

  1. Select the available gift certificate product and amount.
  2. Add it to your shopping cart.
  3. Proceed through checkout using an available payment method.
  4. After the purchase is processed successfully, the gift certificate value will be associated with your customer account.

Sign in using the same customer account used for the purchase so that you can access the available balance and sending options.

Where can I view my gift certificate balance?

First, sign in to your Herb Research account. Your available gift certificate balance and related options may appear within your account, shopping cart or checkout area.

If you believe a balance is missing, confirm that you are signed in with the same email address used when purchasing or redeeming the gift certificate.

How do I send a gift certificate to someone?

After purchasing a gift certificate and signing in to your account, open the available gift certificate sending option. You will be asked to provide:

  • The recipient’s name
  • The recipient’s email address
  • The amount you want to send
  • An optional personal message

Carefully verify the recipient’s email address before sending. An incorrect address may prevent the recipient from receiving the redemption information.

Do I have to send my entire gift certificate balance?

No. You may send only part of the available value, provided the amount does not exceed your current gift certificate balance.

Any amount that is not sent remains associated with your gift certificate account for future eligible use.

How do I use a gift certificate when placing an order?

Sign in to the account containing your gift certificate funds, add eligible products to your cart and proceed to checkout.

When the gift certificate option is available, enter the amount you want to apply to the order. Review your order summary to confirm that the balance has been applied before completing checkout.

If the gift certificate does not cover the full order total, you will need to select another available payment method for the remaining amount.

What happens to an unused balance?

If the available gift certificate balance is greater than the order total, the unused amount will remain in your gift certificate account for future eligible purchases.

Sign in to your account when making a future purchase so that the remaining balance can be accessed.

How do I redeem a gift certificate received by email?

A gift certificate email normally includes the sender’s information, an optional personal message and a redemption code. You may be able to redeem it in either of the following ways:

Method 1: Use the redemption link

Open the redemption link included in the gift certificate email. Sign in or create an account if requested. After validation, the certificate value will be associated with your gift certificate account.

Method 2: Enter the redemption code

During checkout, locate the gift certificate or redemption-code field. Enter the code, select the redeem option and confirm that the value appears in your order summary.

Keep the original gift certificate email until the certificate has been redeemed successfully.

What should I do if the gift certificate email does not arrive?

Ask the recipient to check their spam, junk and promotions folders. Also confirm that the email address entered when sending the certificate was correct.

If the message still cannot be located, contact Customer Care with the purchaser’s email address, recipient’s email address, approximate purchase date and gift certificate amount.

What should I do if a redemption code does not work?

Confirm that the redemption code was entered exactly as shown in the email and that no additional spaces were included.

Also verify that you are signed in to the correct customer account. If the problem continues, contact Herb Research Customer Care before attempting another purchase.
