Fresh July of 2012. There is nothing fresher on the market anywhere!
Pedicularis groenlandia, aka “Elephant Head” is one of the most beautifull, rare and powerfull of the entheogens native to the Pacific Northwest. Since it is difficult to harvest each plant at the optimal stage there is an abundance of stem or stem resin sold but precious little of the young purple infloresence ( the good stuff) is available to the public.
Although most commonly known as a smoke plant for the last decade it is used as tea or tincture for soothing the nervous system and as a skeletal muscle relaxant. Many native tribes used this plant to sooth chronic cough to treat diarrhea or to reduce swellings and treat pain. Perhaps the most fascinating is the stories from diverse native tribes that use the plant as “love medicine.” The plant was added secretly to the food of quaralling lovers to make them return to love, the plant was used as an amulet to give courage to make love advances and there is even stories by the Ojibwa medicine men that this “love medicine” was even put to ill use by enfatuated youth!
As a calming smoke or tea herbalists use elephant head to assist those who are moving away from substances of abuse. All of the betony herbs including elephants head have been helpfull in reducing stress, irritability and headaches while reducing coffee and “herb”.
Since this plant gains it strength by absorbing plant constituents of it’s neighbors I have taken care to only harvest those plants growing near benign herbs. Unfortunately our wildcrafting expenses tripled this year so while we can still offer it on sale we can not offer any wholesale this year.
NOTE: THIS PLANT IS SOLD FOR USE AS A SMOKE PLANT AKA INCENSE. THE TRADITIONAL USES ARE PROVIDED FOR CONTEXT AND ANY INTERNAL APPLICATION OF THE PLANT SHOLD BE DISCUSSED WITH YOUR LICENCED HEALTH CARE PROVIDER.
This item is sold in units of 10 gm.
